There is always a huge variety of activities taking place in and around the Lyng area, including music, comedy, dancing, entertainment and all sorts of social events.
Our what’s on guide will keep you up-to-date with the latest goings on so you won’t miss out. See below for the forthcoming events for your diary.
Job club – advice and guidance on finding and applying for work. Day: Time: LCA Office, Frank Fisher Way.
Money management surgeries – help and support on benefits, saving and budgeting. Every Wednesday, 10.00am – 2.00pm. LCA Office, Frank Fisher Way.
Free coffee mornings and health information sessions for the over 50s. Third Tuesday of the month, 10.30am – 12.oopm, Church of the Good Shepherd in Lyttleton Street.
Toddlers Play Scheme – Monday afternoons at the Church Hall – Church of the Good Shepherd – Lyttleton St.
We also have an allotment and are always looking for helpers particularly in the planting season – come and see us Bromford Lane (behind Kebub)
Media Club- for young people interested in aspects of the media – we have trips to the BBC and the National Football Museum coming up.
Community Cinema- the big films in your local community cinema with lots of pop corn and sweets!

We also run:-
Community Trips – 150 people from our estate – all on a great summer day out – Weston then Blackpool last year, Weston again this year and best of all its just £3.00 per person for everyone who has put something back into the community! If you’d prefer somewhere less sunny we have had trips to Stratford On Avon, Oxford, Gloucester and Hampton Court Palace. Black Country Museum and Twycross Zoo.
Adult Classes – Cake Decoration, Ceramic Art and First Aid for parents. Plus Health and Social Care Diploma for those who want more qualifications.
Summer Play Scheme – a full week of activities for 5 to 11 age group.
